My Restless Heart
Have you ever had so many things weighing heavily upon your heart that you just could not find peace? Work problems, family problems, marital problems, financial problems, and many others occupy your every thought? Sometimes, you just wish you could escape it all. That life has to be better than this. We try to fix our inner chaos with outer solutions—more activities, more entertainment, more achievements—anything to help us momentarily escape from our heartaches. Why can we not find solutions to lift the heavy weights we bear? Because it is a heart problem and the heart only responds to God. St. Augustine said it beautifully: “Our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”
