Near To The Brokenhearted
There are times in life when sorrow settles in like an unwelcome guest. It feels quiet, heavy, and persistent. Where do you turn when you are enduring difficulties? Where is God when I am so low? Does He care? The psalmist said, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34.18, NIV). We do not have to wonder where God is, the psalmist says God is always near. Thus, God doesn’t just offer comfort, He is there with us. God doesn’t wait for us to “get it together” before He comes close especially when we feel the most undone. What a wonderful promise the psalmist discloses.
