Oh Come, Let Us Sing!
We have come together today to worship and praise our God! God wants man to praise Him. Jesus said, “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4.23, 24). Let us lift up our voices and praise the Lord God Almighty! In Psalm 95.1, 2, we read, “Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! The Psalm is a solemn invitation to the people, when assembled for public worship, to praise God from a sense of His great goodness; and to be attentive to the instructions they were about to receive from the reading and expounding of the law. Coming together in the presence of God the psalmist said called for the loudest praise singing with great joy from the heart. Is that how you sing? Do you actually lift up your voice and happily sing praises to God? Do you enjoy singing at every service? It is a time we come humbly before our Lord and express the love we have for Him in our hearts.
