Are My Desires for The World Winning?
James tells us as Christians that we are to live separate and apart from the world (James 4.4). Living as children of God places us in a different realm of standards compared to those around us. The apostle John said we are not to love the world nor the things in the world (I John 2.15-17). Thus, we should not cherish the things of this life nor have a strong desire to possess them. Paul wrote to the Christians at Rome not to be conformed to the world (Romans 12.2). As Christians, we are set apart for holy use. We live for heaven and glories that await the faithful when the Lord returns for His own (I Thessalonians 4.16-18).
