Holding Grudges
Holding a grudge is the act of hanging on to intense anger or dislike for others based on a real or perceived wrongdoing. It is a persistent feeling of resentment, especially one due to some cause, such as an insult or injury. Recognizing and admitting you are holding a grudge is extremely difficult and often robs you of your joy and happiness without realizing it. I believe it was Norman Vincent Peale who said, “Resentment or grudges do no harm to the person against whom you hold these feelings, but every day and every night of your life, they are eating at you.” So basically, holding grudges hurts you a whole lot more than it hurts the one against whom you harbor resentment.
