A Plea For Forgiveness
Most people are familiar with the account of David and Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11). David committed adultery with the beautiful Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite. Bathsheba became pregnant, so David tried to cover up his sin that eventually resulted in the death of Uriah. In torturous impenitence, David tried to cover up, or keep his sin concealed from God. Sin had hardened his heart and had made him blind to his awful guilt. Thus, God sent Nathan the prophet to rebuke David (2 Samuel 12.1-7). David opened his heart to Nathan’s indictment and thoroughly confessed his sin to God.
