No Shortcut To Healing
My first doctor’s visit following surgery on my neck resulted in being rebuked. Initially, I was told that I would have to wear a neck brace for six weeks following surgery. Three weeks later, expecting to hear that my recovering was excelling, I heard a strict rebuke about not wearing my neck brace tight enough. That was the last thing I wanted to hear. I thought it was pretty awkward to begin with, but now having it tighter makes it extremely uncomfortable. Then I thought, “Only three more weeks so I can suffer through it.” The doctor then delivered another shocker, I learned that the weaning off process took up to a month. Starting February 02, I can have the brace off for one hour, the second day—one hour, the third and fourth days—two hours, the fifth and sixth days—three hours, etcetera. I left the doctor’s office thinking, “There’s no short cuts to healing!”
