Did You Know That Sin Loves Company?
The scriptures teach that Satan is after each of us. The apostle Peter wrote, “Be soberminded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (I Peter 5.8). He wants to consume us through sin, to lead us away from God. Satan tempts us in many different ways. The apostle John tells us that Satan uses the things of the world, that is, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, to try to control us. Satan wants us to yield to sin because he knows that sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59.1, 2).
