Love One Another
Jesus stressed how important it is for His followers to love one another. In John 13.34, 35, Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Jesus says that love is the identifying characteristic of those who follow Him. He also says what kind of love that should be: “just as I have loved you.” How did Jesus love us? Jesus loved us sacrificially by giving Himself to die in our place on the cross. Do we love one another sacrificially?
