Do I Know I Need God? (2)
As we continue our study on realizing how much we need God, the scriptures teach that God provides faithful Christians with strength and confidence. The apostle Paul was confident that regardless of his situation in life, that through Christ he would have the strength to over come all (Philippians 4.13). When God called Joshua to believe in Him after the death of Moses, He told Joshua to “be strong and courageous” for He would neither fail him nor forsake him (Joshua 1.6-9). God told Joshua not to be afraid but to be strong and take great confidence in His presence. In the life of David, numerous times in the psalms he credited God as his strength and comfort (Psalm 23; 18.1, 2; 27.1). We face all kinds of trials, temptations, and challenges in our lives today. And we serve the exact same God as David, Joshua, and Paul. Do we see God as our strength and comfort? With God all our difficulties can be endured and possibly totally overcome. Do you see how much you truly need God?
