A Rock And A Hard Place
Have you ever felt trapped between a rock and a hard place? Sometimes as Christians, our culture puts us into such seemingly impossible positions. We want to do what is right; but, our culture right now tries to lure us, tempt us, pressure us, and at times even threaten us to compromise our faith and morals. To make a decision to stand for God seems to lead to horrible social and emotional, if not physical, consequences. What if that “hard place” was even a “lion’s den?” Daniel was placed between a rock and a lion’s den and yet he decided to remain faithful. How could he do that? He had probably even seen the King send people to their deaths in the lion’s den before. Daniel used prayer to face his “hard place”. What can we learn from Daniel about prayer that can help us face our “hard place” even if our “hard place” seems like a lion’s den?
