A Commitment To Integrity
What is integrity? Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. Some examples of everyday integrity include refraining from sharing secrets and confidential information with others, always being honest with your partner, avoiding gossiping about others, keeping your promises, admitting when you’re wrong, etc. Integrity can also apply to our daily walk with God. In Psalm 101, David promises to walk righteously before God with all integrity. He pledges to sing, to make music, and to study the way that is blameless. He cries out to God, “Oh when will you come to me?” David vows to walk with integrity of heart setting nothing worthless before his eyes. He crafts a life of integrity by deleting certain influences from his life while saving others. Looking with favor toward the faithful and rewarding their righteousness will be those who dwell around him. But he will put away and destroy all evil. David goes as far as to pledge to do this every morning. It is good to read this Psalm over and over and try to make our lives to be the same. Do we keep our eyes from viewing worthless things? Do we walk with integrity before God? Sometimes it is hard to always do the right thing. We fall short of God’s glory when we do. But our God loves us immensely and is willing to forgive us if we will turn and seek His forgiveness. Do you need to recommit your life to God today?
