Door Knocking This Saturday!
This Saturday we will be going into our community to share the good news of the love of God. Striving to reach the lost is the major work of the church. God has given every member the responsibility of sharing his/her faith. Do you remember Jesus saying, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28.19, 20)? Jesus says that as we live our lives, we are to share the gospel with those around us. That is exactly what we are going to do this Saturday. We are going to fulfill the commandment given to us by our Lord to share our faith. Many people fear door-knocking because it is something they have never done; but it is actually easy and quite pleasant. To give each of us strength, we will be going out in teams of three or four. We will give out the small booklet, Why I Believe, by Phil Sanders (Door-knocking is always easier when you have something to give them; plus, it gives you something to say immediately when they open the door). Jesus has promised never to leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13.5); therefore, Jesus will be right there with us along with the Holy Spirit of God strengthening us to do the Father’s will. Will you come be a part of this great work? Look forward to seeing you Saturday at 9:00 a.m. here at the building as we prepare to go out! Oh, how I love Jesus! Gary Williams
