Striving To Reach Our Community
Have you ever knocked on someone’s door to tell them about Jesus? For most people, it is a very scary thing to do. Why? Because it is something they have never done before. Fear of the unknown holds many people back from sharing Jesus. When Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages teaching, He had great compassion on the people because they were as sheep without a shepherd. Jesus saw people wandering through their lives lost and away from God because they had no one to lead them to Him. He turned and said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9.37, 38). Jesus stated that there were not enough people going out to lead others to God. He also stated that there were people ready to receive God in their lives if someone would lead them. On Saturday, April 2, we will be door-knocking our neighborhood again to let people know about the Jesus we love. Let me encourage everyone to participate. We will meet at the building at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and divide into teams of two or three. We will hand out a small, beautiful booklet called Why I Believe, by Phil Sanders, in addition to inviting all the children in the neighborhood to come to our Easter “Egg-stravaganza” on Saturday, April 9th. Remember, as we go into our community, Jesus will be with us, and the Holy Spirit will be strengthening us to do the Father’s will. Let’s begin praying immediately that God will bless our efforts to tell people about Jesus. It is going to be an awesome day! Mark your calendars and plan now to come help Share the Good News! Gary
