God Loves Me
As we have just begun the year 2022, many people have set New Year resolutions. Have you thought about setting spiritual resolutions? Growing closer to God, more in-depth study of God’s Word, becoming more evangelistic, being a better servant, are just to name a few. I believe that one of the greater ones upon which people need to focus and pursue is truly comprehending how much “God loves me.” The apostle Paul said, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8.38, 39). Paul was absolutely convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Some believe that death ends it all. For the faithful Christian, death is nothing more than a door into the presence of God. To the Christians at Philippi, Paul said, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1.21). Paul lists several circumstances, but whatever difficulties we face, we can rest assured that God loves us. The only thing that could separate us from God is our own will. If we choose to pursue the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—then our sin will separate us from our Father (I John 2.15-17; Isaiah 59.2). However, in the new year, let us rejoice that as God’s faithful children, nothing can separate us from His unending love. God loves me!
